The High 48s' sixth release, is a collection of original, classic and out-of-the-way train songs. Recorded in Nashville over the winter of 2014, with the help of Grammy-winning producer Randy Kohrs (Jim Lauderdale), Great Northern Railroad features songs from the likes of Greg Brown, Robin and Linda Williams, Becky Schlegel, Darrell Scott and the 48s' own Anthony Ihrig and Eric Christopher.

Formed in Minneapolis, MN in 2006, The High 48s were thrust onto the national scene in 2008 after winning the prestigious RockyGrass Bluegrass Band Competition in Lyons, CO.
